Project Background
JL King & Co is a family-owned Australian company dedicated to supplying fresh, locally sourced, high-quality produce and creating pre-prepared salads, meals, soups and side dishes. Due to growing demand, JL King & Co required a new factory to consolidate the company’s operations which were spread across five different sites with 24/7 operation.
Services
Pro Services was contracted via GRG Consulting Engineers to offer their expertise for the East Bendigo Factory project. All Pro Services departments were involved, contracted for steam, compressed air, and processed cold water. Services also included fabricating and installing stainless steel floor drains, modifying and installing service equipment (including a 12-metre long pasta cooker), and fabricating and installing droppers.
Challenges
The project spanned a three-year timeframe, including a 12-month feasibility phase and 12 months onsite. Changes in requirements and external factors such as COVID caused delay, extending the project duration by at least another 12 months. Pro Services was involved in the feasibility stage for 12 months and then onsite for a further year, with fluctuating workforce requirements.
Project Outcome
During the commissioning phase as the project neared completion, Pro Services provided ongoing support by providing dedicated staffing on site to assist with tying up any loose ends, which the client valued.

Three years, incorporating a 12 month feasibility design phase and 12 months on site for installation.
